Two Paris SG players whose identity has not been revealed presented symptoms suggesting possible contamination with Covid-19, the Parisian club announced on Monday.

"Two PSG players are suspected of infection with Covid-19. Their state of health is quite reassuring. They are already subject to the appropriate health protocol," tweeted PSG, who had not done so. state of affairs within its professional workforce since the resumption of competitions.

The club is awaiting the results of the tests passed by the two players concerned, a source within the club told AFP.

The identity of the players concerned has not been revealed, but it is not the French internationals Kylian Mbappé and Presnel Kimpembe, who arrived normally at the rally of the France team in Clairefontaine.

According to the newspaper L'Equipe, it would be Argentines Leandro Paredes and Angel Di Maria, who spent their holidays together in Ibiza, like other players of the club (Neymar, Mauro Icardi, Ander Herrera ...).

The protocol developed by the Professional Football League provides for the quarantine and automatic testing of "anyone involved in a game who develops symptoms".

From four cases confirmed in eight days, the clubs can no longer organize collective training and a postponement of the match can be decided.

PSG will travel to Lens on September 10 for their Ligue 1 debut this season, and host Marseille on the 13th.

Several Ligue 1 clubs have reported in recent weeks cases of Covid-19 within their workforce, including Lyon, Marseille, Rennes, Nantes or Montpellier.

The cases discovered in Marseille led to the postponement of what was to be the opening match of the championship, between OM and Saint-Etienne.
