Speaking of Chinese fir breeding, I have to mention the Yangkou State-owned Forest Farm in Fujian Province in Shunchang County, Fujian Province. The forest farm and the Chinese fir breeding scientific research team composed of Nanjing Forestry University and Fujian Academy of Forestry have continued to carry out scientific research and application of Chinese fir breeding for more than 60 years, and have achieved fruitful results. It is known as "Chinese fir breeding" cradle". A few days ago, the reporter came to Yangkou State-owned Forest Farm to conduct field interviews.
[Explanation] Yangkou State-owned Forest Farm was established in July 1956. Generations of "Yanglin people" have turned the former wild hills into today's green mountains and created huge social benefits. Many touching stories of struggle continued to be written in the depths of the mountains.
[Explanation] Zheng Binlin, a forestry worker, has worked in Yangkou State-owned Forest Farm for 25 years. In the forest farm, everyone affectionately called him a "steel worker". In February 2009, Zheng Binlin climbed a 6-meter-high cedar to carry out bagging operations. Suddenly, the branch broke and he fell heavily to the ground. He suffered a comminuted fracture of the spine. After 50 days of treatment, he had an extra steel plate. . After half a year of training, Zheng Binlin asked for another battle.

We usually set off at 6 o'clock in the morning. At that time, we were riding a motorcycle. No matter how windy, rainy, or how cold the weather is, we had to complete this job. It's not because my steel plate is deformed, which is not conducive to climbing up the mountain. I think I still stick to scientific research.

[Explanation] In the cultivation room of the Chinese fir seed breeding center, rows of tissue culture bottle seedlings are neatly arranged, which also condenses the efforts of generations of forest farm breeders. The fast-growing superior clones "Yang 020" and "Yang 061" of Chinese fir selected and bred by the forest farm were recognized by the state as forest tree species, and the fourth generation breeding group of fir was first established in China.

The distribution area of the entire species of fir tree in our country is the widest, and the afforestation area is also the largest. This means that once our new species comes out, it will create benefits for the entire country. It’s not a matter of raising billions, but tens of billions. . Let me give you an example, like our Chinese fir breeding, we provide 1.05 million cuttings for seed gardens in various places in the south. It is estimated that 30,000 mu of seed gardens can be built, and 30,000 mu of seed gardens can be built. In the future, the seedlings it can cultivate are estimated to be able to cultivate 6 billion Chinese fir seedlings and 6 billion Chinese fir seedlings. According to the current afforestation of 200 plants per acre, 30 million acres of afforestation can be achieved. We have calculated the increased benefits of our improved varieties. One mu will probably increase the benefit by close to 3300 (yuan), multiplied by 30 (million) mu, the value of the remains of more than 90 billion nearly 100 billion.
[Explanation] Over the past 60 years, the forest farm has planted a total of 107,000 mu, of which the area of fast-growing and high-yield forest reached 60,000 mu, and built China’s first collection area for superior Chinese fir trees, the first Chinese fir clone inoculum garden, and the first The progeny test forest of Chinese fir seed orchard and the only "national fir germplasm resource bank" in China.

It has not only produced a lot of results, but also selected and bred a lot of excellent clones and excellent varieties, promoted to the society, benefiting our forest farmers, and benefiting our Chinese forestry, so it is a selection for the improvement of our Chinese forest trees. The education process and the promotion of rural revitalization have played an irreplaceable special role. In layman's terms, it is to use our improved seeds and ordinary soil seeds for afforestation, which shortens its maturity period and increases the yield per mu. At the same time, its wood quality is good.
[Explanation] Ye Daiquan told reporters that since the establishment of the forest farm, it has produced 49,000 kilograms of improved Chinese fir seeds, which has promoted more than 6 billion seedlings and sold them to 15 provinces and regions including Jiangxi, Guangdong, and Sichuan, and has promoted more than 30 million mu of improved Chinese fir afforestation. The economic value produced by genetic gain amounts to 100 billion yuan.
