19 August 2020 The Army arrives today to search for little Gioele, the 4-year-old child who died last August 3 with his mother, Viviana Parisi, who was later found dead. From this morning he will participate with men and vehicles from BriGata Aosta in the search for the child. A reconnaissance team and 3 teams of 10 people from the 24th Peloritani regiment of Messina will be included in the research device of the Civil Protection, coordinated by the Fire Brigade. The searches will continue "indefinitely", up to a different order.

Gathering of volunteers after an appeal on social networks
"I have been here since 6.30 because this disappearance of the child anguishes me from the first day. I too want to participate in the research, as requested yesterday by the child's father". Talking is Antonia, a 39-year-old housewife from Acquedolci (Messina) who showed up at dawn at the Ip petrol station chosen as the headquarters for the child's research.

Firefighters and civil protection are already in place to resume the "active" searches, after the "passive" ones that continue at night.

It was yesterday the child's father, Daniele Mondello, who launched an appeal on social media: "I invite all those who want to join the research of my son Gioele to show up on Wednesday 19 August at the coordination center on the ss113 at the IP petrol station in Caronia. We will be there around 7.30. It is recommended to wear suitable clothing, long pants and long-sleeved shirts. Thank you in advance. "

They arrive in dribs and drabs to the IP to participate in the research of the little one. There are also Giovanni and Antonio, two farmers from the area. "It is not possible to disappear like this", they say. "We too want to participate in the research."

The bar is still closed, will open later. There are those who ask for coffee "to wake up", those who want water. A young man looks like he's going on a safari. With the camouflage suit and the military green cap. "I read Joel's father's appeal yesterday and I came," he says. "I'm on vacation anyway - he adds - and I'm free".

Meanwhile, dawn has risen in Marina di Caronia. There are at least thirty cars on the parking lot of the Caronia petrol station. Daniele Mondello, Gioele's father, is also expected. Another long day begins.
