The Emir of the State of Qatar, Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani, announced at the donors ’conference in Paris his country's contribution of fifty million dollars to help Lebanon, explaining that in the coming days, additional contributions will be announced in the reconstruction of Beirut.

He added that Qatar, the people and institutions, hastened to respond to the call of the brothers in Lebanon, and to provide them with urgent relief assistance, in the amount of 50 million dollars, as a contribution to relief operations and alleviate the suffering of the Lebanese people and overcome their extremely difficult circumstances.

He said that the State of Qatar, in response to the dictates of its humanitarian duty and the solidarity and fulfillment of its duty and commitment to support Lebanon, will announce in the coming days its contribution to the reconstruction of Beirut through the programs that will be approved.

Sheikh Tamim also indicated that Qatar dispatched a team equipped with the Qatar International Search and Rescue Group, and established field hospitals after the Beirut Port disaster.

In his speech, the Emir of Qatar said that Lebanon cannot overcome this crisis on its own, stressing that facing the crisis that Lebanon is going through depends on strengthening national unity and intensifying governmental efforts.

He requested that dialogue on Lebanese internal issues be left to the Lebanese people and their living forces.

The donors ’conference is being held in Paris via video link, with the participation of many world leaders and presidents under the auspices of the United Nations, with the aim of collecting aid for the Lebanese people after the Beirut port bombing on August 4.
