The General Administration of Civil Defense in Abu Dhabi warned drivers of four reasons that lead to car fires, which are: neglecting periodic maintenance, electrical and technical faults, placing flammable materials, especially lighters or pressurized containers, and minor accidents that could affect the car's electrical systems, and cause Minor leakage in oil, petroleum, or coolant.

And drivers called for the need to conduct regular maintenance of vehicles through specialists to avoid car fires, provide fire extinguishers inside the vehicle, and ensure their suitability, to enhance safety and security while driving.

During the past years, the state’s roads witnessed several accidents of fires in vehicles, especially during the summer period and high temperatures, which led to deaths and injuries, and the civil defense departments attributed their causes to neglecting periodic maintenance and malfunctions in the electrical and technical systems of the vehicle.

Last November, two young children (citizens), aged one and a half and three years, died as a result of the burning of a vehicle that was left alone in it in the port area, and investigations are still underway to find out the causes of the fire.

Abu Dhabi Police warned of the dangers of leaving children inside vehicles alone, noting that leaving them is a grave danger that may lead to death, stressing its keenness to increase awareness of families and various segments of society, calling on parents to assume their responsibilities towards their children by taking safety precautions to reduce child accidents In vehicles.

The Ministry of Interior has warned of fire accidents in vehicles, and the resulting dangers of deaths and injuries, as a result of vehicle drivers' negligence to perform periodic maintenance on vehicle parts, especially those related to fuel or oils and electrical faults, pointing out that failure to follow prevention and safety guidelines in vehicles, and not to maintain them periodically, They lead to fires, which result in loss of life and property, calling on vehicle drivers to take caution.
