State Prosecutor's Office confirmed the charge of the murder of a priest near Yaroslavl

“The Deputy Prosecutor General of the Russian Federation approved the indictment in the criminal case against Alexander Avdeev, accused under paragraph“ z ”of Part 2 of Art. 105 ("Murder") and nos. "B", "c" part 4 of article 162 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation ("Robbery") ", - the message says.

It is noted that a former employee of the Avdeev monastery on June 7, 2016 inflicted more than 25 stabs on the head, neck and torso of Father Superior Daniel, from which the victim died.

Prosecutors sent the criminal case to the Yaroslavl Regional Court for consideration on the merits.

In July 2016, the criminal case on the murder of Abbot Daniel, abbot of Holy Trinity Danilov Monastery in Pereslavl-Zalessky, was transferred for investigation to the central office of the Investigative Committee of Russia.
