Just before lunchtime on Tuesday, a convicted murderer was released during a guarded leave in Kungsbacka. Two men in a taxi appeared and released the man in front of everyone.

During Thursday evening, there has been a large police operation by helicopter, which according to the police has a connection with the murdered man's release on Tuesday.

Already at 3 pm, the police had a search of a car with three men in it. When the men dumped the car on Norra Hamngatan and ran into Nordstan, the police chase began. One of the men was arrested, but two are still at large.

- They behaved very suspiciously. Right now we are looking for the two men in central Gothenburg, says Christer Fuxborg, the police's press spokesperson in the West region.

The police have not yet confirmed whether the three men who escaped from the car are the man convicted of the murder and the two men who released him.

On Wednesday, four people in the case were arrested on suspicion of grossly promoting flight. Since then, three of the people have been released while one has been arrested. The man who was arrested during the police operation has now also been arrested.

On the other hand, Christer Fuxborg cannot say what the people have had in the exemption.

At 21, the police announced that neither the man convicted of the murder nor the two other men had been seen and that the search had slowed down.

- We have searched through all the nooks and crannies and now we carry out more general reconnaissance. Probably the men have changed clothes and then we can not follow them with cameras, says Christer Fuxborg.

How do you see the possibilities of finding the man convicted of murder?

- Sooner or later, the person will make a mistake, and then it is important for us to be there.

The man who was released was convicted of a murder that took place at a pizzeria in Rinkeby in Stockholm in January 2018, the police tell SVT Nyheter Halland.

Then a man in his 25s and 30s was shot to death in front of the restaurant guests during the dinner rush. At the time of the murder, the convicted man was 16 years old.

Many Rinkeby residents were frightened by the deadly violence in the middle of their squares. It received a lot of media attention as yet another in the line of murders and shootings in the area.
