North Korea's economy is facing one of the worst years in recent history.

In 2016, the United Nations imposed sanctions on North Korea, halting most of its trade routes except for those with China.

Before the Corona pandemic, Chinese trade represented 95 percent of North Korea's trade with the world.

In March and April of this year, Sino-North Korean trade decreased by 90% after the border between the two countries was closed.

As a result, daily necessities such as cooking oil, flour and rice no longer flow into the country.

According to the United Nations, about 40% of North Korea's population "was originally food insecure before the Corona pandemic, with many suffering from malnutrition and stunted growth" and when Corona appeared, it put great pressure on supplying medicine to this country.

To make matters worse, many drug factories in the country were closed, resulting in the evaporation of medicines.
