According to the Minister of Higher Education, Frédérique Vidal, 40,000 new graduates were still without assignment on July 9. The minister says she is carrying out work to identify the shortfalls in Parcoursup, and want to do everything possible so that they do not stay in the wild. 

40,000 new graduates are still awaiting assignment for the start of the new school year. The Minister of Higher Education, Frédérique Vidal, explained on Saturday morning on Europe 1 that 9,500 of them had made a request for support. The ministry claims to have implemented a whole work of identification of the shortfalls of Parcoursup.

"There were almost 40,000 young people who were still waiting for a proposal. Since July 9, we called them one by one, and we saw with them what their project was ...", said the minister, continuing: "The figure I give you [9,500], it corresponds to the number of high school students who had made a wish on the platform and who wish to continue in higher education."

10,000 places created

For these 9,500 young people, my Minister promises the creation of 10,000 places in requested sectors, such as paramedics. Ines, who just got her baccalaureate, wanted to go towards this specialty but she received no offer: "I have never missed school. I have the impression that they do not leave good luck to young people, while I am motivated. I really want to succeed in my life. The young woman will finally go to study in Belgium.

If university places were opened in emergency, more than 30,000 new graduates could leave the radars of National Education. On Saturday morning, the minister remained rather elusive about them.
