The Ministry of Health did not rule out the second wave of coronavirus infection COVID-19, but noted that it would be weaker than the previous one.

“In the fall we can expect a slight increase in the incidence. School, student, work collectives will be formed, people will return from vacations. This always leads to an increase in the incidence of respiratory infections, but we do not expect the second wave to be as strong as the first wave, ”said Professor Vladimir Chulanov, chief infectious diseases specialist at the Ministry of Health. Chulanov explained that many people have gained immunity to coronavirus. In addition, according to the professor, citizens are now "more serious about the recommended preventive measures, warnings, experience of preventive measures has appeared."

Over the past day in Russia revealed 6234 new cases of coronavirus infection. According to the operational headquarters, 24.4% of new patients with COVID-19 did not have clinical manifestations of the disease.

According to Rospotrebnadzor, in Russia more than 24.6 million tests for coronavirus were carried out, more than 300 thousand of which were performed over the past day. Due to the spread of infection, 273,822 people are under medical supervision.

The headquarters indicated that over the past day an increase in the incidence of COVID-19 was not recorded in the Chukotka Autonomous Region.

“Subjects with the lowest growth rates per day: 1. Chukotka Autonomous Okrug - 0%; 2. Moscow - 0.2%; 3. Moscow region, Kabardino-Balkarian Republic - 0.3%; 4. Republic of North Ossetia, Nenets Autonomous Okrug, Bryansk Oblast - 0.4%; 5. Kaluga Region, Pskov Region, Kursk Region - 0.5%, ”the statement said.

Moscow continues to lead in the number of newly detected cases of COVID-19, but we are talking about constantly decreasing rates. According to the staff, the incidence in the capital is steadily declining.

“578 new cases of coronavirus infection have been confirmed in the capital. Over the past month, the number of new cases has been reduced by an average of 15% every week, ”the headquarters said.

Along with this, the average daily growth rate in the capital for the month is 1.5%. Throughout July, the number of new cases of COVID-19 has been kept low, headquarters said. We add that in a day after recovery from the coronavirus in Moscow, 543 people were discharged.

More than 200 new infections per day were detected in the Sverdlovsk Region (259), the Khanty-Mansi Autonomous Area (247), St. Petersburg (238), Nizhny Novgorod Region (205) and Altai Territory (201).

A detachment of doctors sent to the Vostochny spaceport

The Federal Medical and Biological Agency sent a consolidated medical squad to the Vostochny Cosmodrome to prevent the spread of coronavirus infection.

Doctors took off with a special board of Roscosmos state corporation. On the same plane are personal protective equipment and all necessary medicines. The detachment is headed by Mikhail Ratmanov, head of the department of medical care and industrial medicine at the FMBA of Russia.

According to the FMBA, on July 17, no cases of COVID-19 infection were reported on the territory of the Vostochny spaceport. Nevertheless, 52 cases of infection were detected in ZATO Tsiolkovsky, 41 people recovered. It is noted that the disease in all patients proceeds in a mild and moderate form.

“The Federal Biomedical Agency is taking all necessary measures to prevent the spread of a new coronavirus infection at the Vostochny Cosmodrome and ZATO Tsiolkovsky. The situation is under full control, ”the agency said.
