The Ministry of Health and Community Protection has reported a voluntary withdrawal of batches of two medical products, Salonpas and Nesal, due to non-conforming additives.

In a circular issued by the Assistant Undersecretary for Public Health Policy and Licensing, Dr. Amin Al-Amiri, the Ministry stated that the manufacturer of the medical product «Salonpas for treating back pain» withdrew operations of the product because it contained a small amount of the dye as an additive that does not comply with the dye specifications approved by the company.

She stated that the voluntary withdrawal of seven operations of the aforementioned product has taken place, the expiration date ranged between December of this year and November of 2022, noting that the company withdrew the mentioned operations from the public and private sectors.

The Ministry asked all health facilities and health care practitioners in the private sector not to use these operations, and obligated all pharmacies to stop disbursing these operations and return them to the supplier, pointing out that the product is registered with the Ministry of Medicines Administration.

The Ministry confirmed that there is no health risk, and there are no reports of side effects resulting from the operations, stressing the need to inform the Ministry in the event of any side effects, through the link on the side effects of medicines, or via e-mail to the values ​​of drug control in the ministry.

In another circular, the Ministry announced that Vering Company made a voluntary voluntary withdrawal of all operations of the nasal spray product that was distributed around the world, because the results of the analysis demonstrated that the content of the active substance "desmopressin" does not conform to the specifications approved during testing a sample of Batch.

The tests showed that the nasal sprayer package contains a volume less than the actual size, and it was found that it is outside the approved specifications for each ratio of "desmopressin" 155% of the target quantity, and the percentage of benzalk and chloride num 120% of the targeted quantity.
