Traveling abroad was allowed at the end of June - July, since several countries were opened to travelers from Sweden and other countries in the EU. In addition, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs eased its travel restrictions and again did not allow unnecessary travel.

Travelers are feverishly tested

On Monday morning, a plane from Växjö lifted towards Alicante in Spain. One of the travelers was Henrik Carlsson.

- It feels both good and bad. Spain has some tougher restrictions than we have here in Sweden. That way it feels good, he says.

But despite the fact that the airport's operations in Växjö are up and running and that travel to certain countries has once again been allowed, not everything is the same. Travelers are wearing mouthguards and they are already being tested for fever at check-in. The airport has also marked the floor of the entrance hall with the invitation to keep a distance.

"We have tried to ensure that everyone gets a safe journey," says Johannes Jarz, the airport's station manager.

"Sitting like packed heroes"

The airlines are responsible for passenger safety on board. On this particular flight to Alicante it was mandatory to wear mouthguards throughout the flight.

- The hard part is to sit like packed heroes on the flight. But you have to wear a mouthguard, so I can take the bad with the good, says Henrik Carlsson.
