According to the authors of the article, US officials intercepted electronic data with the transfer of finances from the account, which supposedly belongs to Russian intelligence, to the account associated with the Taliban.

Thus, journalists claim that this fact is evidence of "sponsorship of militants in Afghanistan" by Russia for allegedly killing the US military.

Earlier, The New York Times, citing sources, published its first article alleging that Russian military intelligence allegedly offered rewards to Taliban-related militants for attacks on American soldiers in Afghanistan.

Later, the Russian Foreign Ministry called this publication "unpretentious stuffing."

US President Donald Trump, in turn, called the article "ordering."

The Taliban spokesman also said the movement “strongly rejects” the newspaper’s allegation.
