US and Great Britain refused to discuss the UN Security Council statement prepared by Russia in connection with the Israeli strike on the Iranian consulate in Syria. First Deputy Permanent Representative of Russia to the UN Dmitry Polyansky wrote about this in his Telegram channel.
On April 1, the Israeli Air Force attacked the embassy and residence of the Iranian ambassador in the Syrian capital. Later, the Iranian Foreign Ministry announced its readiness to respond to Israel’s attack. The NYT also reported that the United States fears attacks on its forces after the attack.
