Toshio Nakagawa, chairman of the Japan Medical Association, became the new chairman in the presidential election held last week, overcoming his current position aiming for the fifth term.
Chairman Nakagawa said in a press conference on the 1st, "There is a controversy that the sense of distance with the LDP may change a lot in the executive branch of Nakagawa, but the relationship between the Japan Medical Association and the LDP will never change, I will not do it."
He added, "Regarding individual health care policies, the way in which statements and expressions are made by the MHLW council and review committees may change slightly, but there is no major difference."
