“The main enemy of Ukraine’s economic progress is the law enforcement system - the SBU, the tax police, and those units that previously worked in the Prosecutor General’s Office,” Saakashvili quoted Interfax-Ukraine as saying.

According to him, the Ukrainian president Vladimir Zelensky, in the framework of supporting the country's economy, decided to replace all law enforcement units involved in economic crimes with a single financial investigation body.

"The president’s clear decision to bring (them to) one body - this should be one small body of financial investigations," he added.

According to Saakashvili, 2.5 million tax proceedings have been opened in the country, which makes it the world record holder for business terror.

Saakashvili said earlier that Russia is ahead of Ukraine in matters of economic deregulation and in the tax system.

In addition, he noted that in Ukraine there is no state, but there is a "bunch of officials" with their superiors.
