Emmanuel Macron's popularity rating stagnated in June with 38% satisfied (-1 point over a month) but that of his Prime Minister gained four points with half of French people approving his action, according to an Ifop study published in the Sunday newspaper . 38% of French people say they are satisfied with the President of the Republic (32% "somewhat satisfied", 6% "very satisfied"), against 39% at the end of May and 42% at the end of April. With 60% of French people who say they are "dissatisfied" (31% "somewhat dissatisfied", 29% "very dissatisfied") of Emmanuel Macron as President of the Republic, this rate remains unchanged.

An ascending trend observed since the start of the epidemic
The head of state's popularity rating had jumped 11 points at the end of March (43% satisfied), a likely consequence of the coronavirus crisis, but since then the country has consistently expressed dissatisfaction. Emmanuel Macron however does better than his predecessors since at the same stage of their respective mandates, François Hollande had only 22% satisfied and Nicolas Sarkozy, 34%.
In campaign in Le Havre against the communist Jean-Paul Lecoq, the Prime Minister collects 50% favorable opinions (41% of "somewhat satisfied", 9% of "very satisfied"), against 46% last month. Its popularity thus confirms an upward trend observed since the beginning of the epidemic. 48% of French people say they are "dissatisfied" (29% "somewhat dissatisfied", 19% "very dissatisfied") of Edouard Philippe as Prime Minister against 52% at the end of May.

This survey was carried out by self-administered questionnaire online and by telephone from June 12 to 20 according to the quota method with a sample of 1,865 people, representative of the French population aged 18 and over. Margin of error between 1 and 2.2 points.
