Chambéry examining magistrates dismissed Nordahl Lelandais before the Assises de Savoie for the "murder" of Corporal Arthur Noyer which occurred in April 2017, the Chambéry prosecution announced on Friday.

The magistrates having followed the requisitions of the parquet floor, the family of the young soldier who wanted the qualification of "assassination" (which introduces premeditation) will not be able to appeal. Only the defendant's defense can appeal.

Bones discovered

Contacted by AFP, the lawyer of Norddahl Lelandais, Me Alain Jakubowicz, did not wish to speak. The deadline for appealing to the investigating chamber is 10 days from the notification of this decision to the person concerned.

Arthur Noyer had disappeared during the night of April 11 to 12, 2017. After spending the evening in a nightclub in Chambéry, he did not return to the Barby barracks, located only a few kilometers away. Debris from his skull was found by a walker in September on a hiking trail at Cruet, 16 km further south. Other bones had been discovered.

During his hearing at the end of March 2018 by the judges in charge of the case, the former dog handler had recognized a fight with the young soldier, whom he had hitchhiked out of a nightclub in Chambéry, followed by '' a fatal fall for the 23-year-old young man in a steep area twenty kilometers from the city.

Investigators have shown that Nordahl Lelandais, already indicted for the murder of little Maëlys de Araujo, 8, was also in Chambéry when the victim disappeared.
