“Inspections of last year showed that the buildings of many paramedic centers, clinics and district hospitals are in poor condition. Diagnostic equipment is often scarce, ”he said during a meeting of the Federation Council.

Krasnov added that the “significant shortage of medical personnel” is a serious problem.

“In the Kurgan region, as of the beginning of 2019, medical organizations were staffed with doctors by only 40%, and by secondary medical personnel - by 61%. This year the situation has not improved significantly. Such examples are not uncommon, ”he said, noting that in previous years this had a negative impact on the timeliness, quality and availability of medical care.

In modern conditions, these problems have been exposed even more, the head of the prosecutor’s office said.

“In this regard, the supervisory plans of prosecutors are now aimed at tightly monitoring the activities of all authorized bodies in this area,” Krasnov added.

In late May, the Ministry of Health reported that primary health care was not provided in 130 settlements of Russia.
