The corresponding initiative in the framework of anti-crisis measures is contained in a letter from Novak to Deputy Prime Minister Yury Borisov dated April 17.

As noted, an additional 30% of the cost of the conversion will be allocated by Gazprom. Thus, car owners will have to pay the remaining 10% of the transfer to gas.

According to Novak, the transition to NGV fuel can quickly and significantly (60-65%) reduce the cost of car owners on gasoline and diesel.

The letter sent to Borisov talks about small and medium-sized businesses, as well as about citizens, including self-employed, for whom these expenses constitute a significant and socially sensitive article in the context of the spread of COVID-19.

The press service of the Ministry of Energy confirmed Novak’s initiative, and a representative of Borisov told the publication that the government supported the idea of the minister.

In the fall of 2019, the Ministry of Energy reported that in the next five years the government will allocate 50 billion rubles to support the gas engine industry.
