Deputies from Fair Russia are proposing to ban Telegram blocking when introducing high-alert and emergency situations, as the messenger is one of the main "sources of information about the current situation for state authorities and officials."
“State bodies through this service inform citizens of the Russian Federation about the primary and main problem that all countries of the world have encountered - about coronavirus infection COVID-19,” the note says.
Earlier, the founder of Telegram Pavel Durov said that in Russia 30 million people use the messenger.
