SVT began investigating the case of coerced Sofie, aged 13, when her biological parents heard about it. But despite giving authority, the municipality refuses to answer any questions. Instead, they pushed parents to tear down the power of attorney.

- The municipality has not contacted us since, or said sorry, says the mother.

"On the verge of crime"

Olle Lundin, professor of administrative law at Uppsala University, says that the municipality is not allowed to do this.

- Really not. Using that power to threaten someone in the dependency position is worthy of the limit for criminal, he says.

SVT has sought responsible politicians in Borlänge, but has been referred to a press release. "As the highest level of responsibility for the business, I welcome both review and discussion on how best to safeguard the rights and interests of children," writes Lars Walter, Head of Education.

Cared for at birth

Sophie's parents have disabilities and lost her when she was born.

- It was the worst day of my life, says the mother.

Sophie's biological father has Asperger's syndrome and was never investigated to determine if he could be a good parent.

- Others with Asperger's take care of their children, why don't I get it? he says.

Growing up in family homes

Sofie has grown up all her life in a family home and the social services have all the years claimed that Sofie was safe and rooted. But after a conflict over how the family home handled a youth suspected of abuse, Sofie was suddenly moved in February.

Despite the fact that the boy in question has now moved away from home, the social service believes that the trust is exhausted. Sofie wants to move back, but has no legal opportunity to appeal the decision.

Kenneth Persson (S) chairman of the Social Committee writes in the press release: “The Social Committee is well versed in this matter and follows it. The social services handle many difficult, complex issues and I have full confidence in the way the business is conducted. ”

Lives now at HVB home

Sofie now lives in an HVB home, far from school and friends. She will receive trauma treatment after the sudden move from the family home. Then the social services will investigate whether Sofie's biological father has parental ability and reconnect with her biological parents, said the municipality's lawyer when Sofie's parents appealed to the administrative court.

- She must feel so alone, says Sofie's biological mother. We never give up.
