The Sharjah Private Education Authority has issued a circular for private schools on reducing the vulnerability of workers ’wages in educational institutions, in an effort to sustain educational development in the emirate and stabilize the quality of education, in light of the precautionary measures and with the continued application of distance education.

By its circular, the authority indicated that it calls on schools not to make any changes in the educational staff, whether by laying off the teacher, reducing his wages, or giving him leave without pay, except after referring to the authority, and taking written approval of the alternative plan attached to the application, and a mechanism to ensure that it is not affected The quality of education, not increasing the classroom density, or increasing the teacher’s quorum, or decreasing the number of classes offered to the student in the schedule in effect in 2019 and 2020, so that the regret does not have to take strict measures that may lead to the revocation of the private educational institution’s license, That did not take the approval of the commission, if the authority found that the quality of education in the private educational institution was affected.

She noted that, based on the above-mentioned circular, 30 schools have applied for a reduction in the wages of their teachers, 9 of which submitted the required documents, where after studying them it was found that they did not meet the conditions, and would affect the quality of education in them, while the rest of the requests were rejected for not attaching the required documents.

She added that if schools take previous measures, before the date of this circular, they are obliged to inform the commission of an official letter, and that the school works to restore the rights of teachers to ensure the quality of education, within a period of 5 days.

She emphasized that to ensure the rights of the school, the authority also issued a circular to schools against them by asking parents for tuition fees for the third semester, and the school has the right to stop the student’s certificate and not to re-register it or transfer it to another school in the event that it does not pay 80% of the tuition fees.
