Over the past day in 84 regions of Russia, 8863 new cases of COVID-19 were detected. According to the operational headquarters, 41.9% of new patients did not have clinical manifestations of the disease.

In the previous two days, 9035 and 9268 new cases were recorded in the country. For all time in Russia, 423,741 (+ 2.1%) confirmed cases of COVID-19 were detected.

Since the beginning of the epidemic, 186,985 (44.1%) people have recovered in Russia, including 11,108 in the last day. At the same time, 5037 people (1.19%) died from complications that developed against the background of coronavirus infection and related diseases. Over the past 24 hours, 182 people have died.

The largest number of new cases of COVID-19 is still recorded in Moscow. During the day in the capital, 2286 new cases were detected (over the previous two days - 2297 and 2595). Since the beginning of the epidemic, 185,374 cases have been fixed in the capital, almost half of them (88,269) have recovered.

Other regions where the greatest number of cases were detected over the past day were Moscow Region (732 people), St. Petersburg (376), Nizhny Novgorod (354), Sverdlovsk (292), Rostov (253) and Irkutsk (210) regions.

According to the Rospotrebnadzor, more than 11.1 million tests for coronavirus have been carried out in the country, 228.5 thousand of them over the past day. More than 304.5 thousand people remain under medical supervision.

Commenting on the situation with the spread of COVID-19 in the country, the head of Rospotrebnadzor Anna Popova during a working meeting with Vladimir Putin said that the rate of increase in the number of infected in Russia after the introduction of restrictions has decreased by more than an order of magnitude.

“From the moment restrictive measures were introduced, the growth rate has already decreased 13 times today and in the whole country is about 2%,” Popova said.

She added that the indicator, which was introduced into the methodological recommendations as a distribution coefficient, also decreased three times. We are talking about a parameter that shows how many people can infect one infected before isolation.

“In the last two weeks, this coefficient has not exceeded unity in the whole country, but was more than three,” Popova said.

According to the head of the department, the abolition of restrictive measures in the Russian regions does not lead to a worsening of the incidence rate. She said that by now 24 regions have already passed to the first stage of lifting restrictions, and another 26 entities have achieved indicators that will allow them to proceed to this step in the near future.

According to the recommendations of Rospotrebnadzor, the regions with the prevalence of coronavirus at the level of 1 or less can start the first stage of lifting restrictions. In this case, it is necessary to observe the conditions for the presence of free "infectious" beds and testing coverage.

When the propagation coefficient drops to 0.8, you can proceed to the second stage, and with a value of 0.5 or less, to the third.

“Three regions are ready for the third stage, they have already overcome the second stage. And this speaks of rather fast dynamics, although these decisions were made a little more than two weeks ago, and we see that the dynamics are positive, ”Popova added, without specifying which particular regions we are talking about.

    Health Challenges and Vaccine Search

In turn, the head of the Ministry of Health, Mikhail Murashko, suggested that life would return to normal when a medicine for the treatment of COVID-19 or a vaccine appears.

“Our views are aimed at finding a pharmaceutical component for managing the situation. If we get medical technology controlled with the help of medications, then, of course, we will definitely return to our usual course, ”RIA Novosti quotes him.

Speaking about the general situation with coronavirus in Russia, Murashko noted that maintaining the pace of development of the healthcare system in the context of combating the epidemic was no less a serious challenge than treating patients, which he called the first challenge for the medical community.

“The second challenge, it is no less significant, but probably more significant in scale, is how to organize the rest of the medical care, how not to lose those successes and achievements when we have to restructure our work principles and rebuild our bed fund,” the Minister said .

He also spoke about the successes of medical science and industry in Russia, citing as an example the development of test systems for the detection of coronavirus. According to him, about two such products were released in two months.

“In just two months we released, starting from the development of a test system to putting it on industrial production and providing laboratory analyzes of the patient directly, we released almost 30 products. This is the undoubted success of medical science and industry in Russia. We have not encountered such a volume before, with such a speed of passage, ”Murashko said.
