After the publication of a video, which has gone viral, of a woman masturbating in one of her stores in China, the furniture giant Ikea called on her customers to behave in a "civilized manner", this Monday.
On the video, we see a woman enjoying herself on an armchair and a bed of the Swedish brand, while customers in the background stroll through the exhibition rooms. The identity of the woman, the author of the video or even the name of the store concerned are not known.
Reinforced security measures in stores
In a statement published on Sunday, which does not make explicit reference to the video in question, Ikea "condemned such behavior" and announced that it had alerted the police. The brand assured that it has strengthened its security measures in its stores and called on its customers to adopt a "civilized" behavior.
The original video was quickly censored on social media across the country. Internet users have noted that announcements in Cantonese could be heard in the background, suggesting that the video was filmed in Canton (south).
Suggestive poses in certain stores
In the extracts, the clients also appear without masks, suggesting that the video was filmed before the coronavirus epidemic that spread to China from December. Ikea stores in China are usually popular with nap lovers who like to make themselves comfortable on the Swedish giant's couches and beds.
It is not the first time that a sex video has tarnished the reputation of a major brand in the country. In 2015, the filmed sequence of a couple making love in a booth at a Uniqlo clothing store in Beijing went viral. The place had even become an attraction for some Chinese people who came to take pictures of themselves in suggestive poses.
