The German "Robert Koch" Institute for Infectious and Non-communicable Diseases Research predicts that there will be other waves of the Corona virus epidemic emerging (Covid-19).

"This is a pandemic," said Lothar Feller, head of the institute, today in Berlin. "In the pandemic, this virus will cause more infections until 60 to 70% of the population is infected."

Feller said that there will be "with great certainty" a second wave of the pandemic, explaining that most scientists confirm this, noting that many of them also expect a third wave.

The comments came in response to a question from a journalist about the application planned to be used to track the chains of infection with the emerging coronavirus. Feller said this tool - one of several tools - will still be needed in later stages.

Feller did not say when this application would be launched.
