The Saudi Ministry of Interior acknowledged the killing of the Saudi citizen Abdul Rahim Al-Hwaiti in Tabuk, and said that it had found weapons in his possession, which is the same scenario that he spoke about in one of his videos.

The Saudi State Security Presidency (internal intelligence agency) said, in a statement, that Al-Hweiti was killed during the task of arresting him in his house in the village of "Al-Khuraibah" in Tabuk, after his initiative to shoot at security men and his refusal to surrender.

She added that "two security men were wounded (during the exchange of fire), and they were taken to the hospital at the time, and their health condition is currently stable," according to the official Saudi Press Agency (SPA).

The official account of Saudi Arabia did not reveal the reason for the attempted arrest of Al-Hwaiti, nor the charges brought against him.

Al-Hwaiti has posted several clips on communication platforms calling for an end to the displacement process in the region.

And he predicted in one of the videos he recorded before his killing the same scenario that the Saudi security went to, where he said that he expected to be imprisoned or even killed and accused of terrorism and photographing weapons alongside him. "I am not surprised that they kill me in my house now, then they throw a weapon in my home - as is happening in Egypt - and accuse me of terrorism."

Activists shared videos of what they said was a continuation of displacements by the authorities of his al-Hwaitat tribe, for the city of Neum project.

At the same time, activists launched the mark of the death of Abdul Rahim Al-Hwaiti on social media to denounce what they considered to be targeting him and demanding that the circumstances of his death be revealed.

With God, opponents will meet ... Praise be to God, on the day he confirms his words in the video, and glory be to God, as he said: They kill me and put down a weapon for me and say about me a terrorist ... except God curse him on Salman and Bin Salman

Al-Hweiti is known for his series of videos in which he documents the Saudi authorities' attempt to force him out of his home in favor of the NEOM project.

In one of his latest videos, he said he expected to be killed because of his continued refusal to surrender.

In an interview with Al-Jazeera, the head of the Islamic Reform Movement, Saad al-Faqih, said that the evidence is conclusive that the Saudi Ministry of Interior's statement in the case of Abd al-Rahim al-Hwaiti, who was killed by a security force in the Tabuk region, was incorrect.

Al-Faqih asserted that Al-Hwaiti was not a wanted man, because he appeared in recorded video clips before his death, and despite that, he was not arrested.
