Al Jazeera was able to identify the man who appeared in the video, and he is called Atta Ibrahim Al-Maqed (73 years old). He is deaf and mute, meaning he cannot hear or speak. According to the words of the Israeli soldier, he saw a person and was pointing at him with his hands, but he opened fire.
