Dubai’s Roads and Transport Authority revealed to “Emirates Today” the increasing demand for sales outlets for taxis operating in Dubai to deliver their customers ’requests, stressing that the authority also provides the service to parties that meet the needs of different customers through smart applications to deliver the requests spread in the emirate.
In response to a question about the number of vehicles that were provided during the past days following the inauguration of the service at the beginning of this month, the authority said: “There is an increasing daily turnout, and the number of taxi vehicles executing the requests varies according to the entity and the size of the purchase requests required from them,” pointing out that the authority I am fully prepared to meet the full needs of the Union Cooperative Societies and hypermarkets, and to purchase orders through smart applications available in Dubai.
The purchase rate of basic materials, food and consumer products has increased significantly in the past weeks, following the implementation of a national preventive plan nationwide to limit the spread of the Corona virus (COFED-19), which requires restricting the movement of individuals and vehicles, and the obligation to stay at home.
The authority assured «Emirates Today» that the process of transferring and delivering requests to customers is carried out in accordance with the terms and conditions of quality, health and safety, and in accordance with health instructions and procedures approved in the public health level for the mechanism of transporting goods in vehicles, as well as the approved health conditions, to ensure the cleanliness and health of drivers, including wearing Gags and gloves for safe and sound transportation and delivery of goods.
The authority continued that it has initiated the provision of the service in order to reduce the pressure of delivering purchases through electronic shopping to the public, and to contribute to saving time and effort on customers during their remote shopping, and delivering their needs as quickly as possible.
5000 vehicles within the fleet of «Dubai Taxi»
The fleet of Dubai Taxi Corporation, affiliated to Dubai Roads and Transport Authority, which is currently involved in delivering electronic and smart purchase orders, includes approximately 5,000 taxis. The vehicles of the Dubai Taxi Corporation fleet can be distinguished by the red roof, and the vehicles are characterized by cleanliness and maintenance continuously. The Foundation has provided its vehicles with modern safety specifications, and is also being followed up with the latest tracking devices via satellite.
