Agents of the Civil Guard of Torrevieja (Alicante) have arrested, on Thursday, a 61-year-old man who boasted on social networks of having traveled from Madrid to spread the coronavirus to the residents of the salt town.

As sources familiar with the facts have informed Europa Press, the arrest was carried out today at 2.30 p.m. The agents charge him with a hate crime despite having verified that the detainee is lying because he has been a resident of the city since January, before the pandemic broke out and the state of alarm was decreed. In addition, the man, in his statement, has excused himself saying that everything was "a joke" and that he is "sorry".

In the video, the man claims that he came to Torrevieja to "bitch" the residents and "spread" the virus. He claims that he approached a supermarket next to the Bus Station with other "4,000" from Madrid and that they "razed" the shelves to leave the city "without food" and to see if the neighbors are "starving" .

"For bullshit", he says in the video and points out: "We are going to spread the virus to you. They give you the ass; we are up to the balls of all those in Torrevieja, so you can screw yourselves. Torrevieja, give you the ass, I'm from Madrid and screw you. Fuck it. "

Another case in Daimús

The arrest of this man in Torrevieja is in addition to the one carried out yesterday in Daimús (Valencia), when Civil Guard agents, in collaboration with the Local Police, arrested a 23-year-old man who had boasted on social networks of being from Madrid and having symptoms of Covid-19 and said that he was in the Gandia area taking walks on the beach and indicated that, if they did not pass, he would go to the hospital.

The young man, who had created social alarm, was arrested as an alleged perpetrator of a crime of public disorder . Local Police verified that his car had been parked on the street for a long time and that he lived in the town.

In the text, the young man claimed to be from "Madrid" and to have arrived at the "pig farm called Gandia" , while ensuring that his center in the capital was "full" and had symptoms of the coronavirus, so he did not rule out "in a couple of days" go to the hospital and while I would continue taking walks on the beach.
