It is the respective department head who decides whether an individual employee should be tested for the new coronary infection and only staff who show symptoms of cold or other respiratory symptoms are tested.

From 26 March to 5 April, 394 employees at Nyköping's laser hospital, Kullbergska Hospital and Mälar Hospital in Eskilstuna had been tested and 73 people, or 18 per cent, showed positive results.

Tests to exclude infection

The region of Sörmland does not spend on how many people have been infected at each hospital. They also do not tell which positions the infected personnel held or which departments they worked on. But it is staff who are "patient-friendly" work in hospitals and in ambulance care.

Sampling is done to exclude covid-19 infection so that an employee can return to work despite mild respiratory symptoms.
