The Ministry of Health and Community Protection has warned against fraudulent tests, vaccines and treatments for the emerging corona virus (Covid 19)
In a circular to all health facilities in the country, the ministry said that several companies produce unapproved products to detect and treat corona.
The Ministry indicated that the US Food and Drug Administration and the Federal Trade Commission issued warning messages to 7 companies that sell fraudulent (Coved 19) products, and that these products are not approved and pose significant risks to patient health and violate the law.
The ministry added that the US Food and Drug Administration recommends consumers and health care practitioners to beware of websites and stores that sell products that claim to be prevented or treated (Covid 19), and that any type of chloroquine should only be used according to a prescription issued by the treating physician from licensed and registered pharmacies In the UAE, care should be taken not to acquire the drug through illicit sources or through the internet.
