The Grand Prix of the Netherlands, Spain and Monaco which were to be contested in May have been postponed to unspecified dates, said Thursday the International Automobile Federation (FIA) and Formula 1, the promoter of the F1.

"Due to the evolving situation on the Covid-19 front around the world, Formula 1, the FIA and the three (Grand Prix) promoters have taken these decisions to ensure the health and safety of staff and participants to the championship and the fans, which remains our first concern, "said the press release.

With these three new postponements, none of the first seven Grand Prix of the F1 season will be held on schedule, that of Australia, which was to take place on March 15 having been canceled, that of Bahrain on March 22 postponed, as those of Vietnam (April 5) and China (April 19).

The Dutch Grand Prix was originally scheduled to take place on May 3 at the Zandvoort circuit, making its return to the F1 calendar after several years of absence. The Spanish GP was due to take place on the Montmelo circuit near Barcelona on May 10 and that of Monaco in the Principality on May 24.

According to the current calendar, it is therefore the Grand Prix of Azerbaijan in Baku on June 7 which should open the season.
