“My name is Michael Lyubovetsky, I am 42 years old, I live in Germany. But I was born and raised in another place, near Dresden, in the former GDR. I was 12 years old when the reunification of Germany took place. You would probably like it there: the countryside, which was influenced by the SEC (agricultural production cooperative, you have the concept of “collective farm” more often in Russia). Soviet soldiers were part of the everyday picture, ”said Lyubovetsky.

According to him, he is an employee, his wife is a nurse. Lyubovetsky noted that he finds many positive aspects in the life of the GDR, despite fair criticism of its political system.

Lubovetsky also expressed the hope that Shaposhnikov, despite his venerable age, is doing well.

“I especially wish you strength and health,” he added.

Heidi Knoll, a resident of the German city of Chemnitz in the federal state of Saxony, sent a letter to Shaposhnikov as part of the RT #Post-Victory project.

On March 2, RT presented the story of Boris Vasilyevich Shaposhnikov, who participated in the battle of Stalingrad, as part of the #Post-Victory project.

The project #Post-Victory contains the stories of those who survived the siege of Leningrad, signed on the walls of the Reichstag, who hid Soviet soldiers escaping from concentration camps.

With the help of the project #Post-Victory, anyone can write letters to veterans, the history of wars and victories of which will be told over the next months.

Letters sent to the editorial office of the channel will be transmitted to veterans.
