Hundreds of residents of the Greek islands of Lesvos and Chios opposed the decision of the country's authorities to build new camps for migrants. They tried to prevent the arrival of equipment at the ports and blocked the roads leading to the facilities. To disperse the protesters, police used tear gas, light-noise grenades and water cannons. According to various estimates, about 150-200 thousand migrants and refugees can be in Greece.
