June 14, 2019 The first instance verdict on Julian Assange's disputed request for extradition from the United Kingdom to the United States will be decided in five hearings starting from February 25, 2020.

Judge Emma Arbuthnot decided it today, inaugurating the trial at Westminster Magistrates Court with the collection of documents and a first hearing of the parties.

The Wikileaks founder turned to Arbuthnot, making fun of the 175 years of prison that he would risk on the basis of the American espionage charge: "175 years of my life are at stake".
