To secure water management and provide better access to drinking water, the Sea and Water Authority (the Sea) this year distributes SEK 58 million to the county administrative boards, the authority writes in a press release.

The money will go towards supporting local environmental projects and both municipalities as well as municipal and private companies can apply for the money from the county administrative boards.

The biggest problems are the drought in Gotland, Blekinge, Skåne and Kalmar counties, which receive between 6.4 and 3.3 million SEK in support.

This year is the second time that the county administrative boards receive state support to secure drinking water. Last year, the Sea distributed SEK 45 million.
