Nearly 30 people were killed when high-speed trains derailed near Milan, northern Italy.

At 5:30 am local time on Sunday, a train connecting Milan and southern Salerno departed for Bologna at a speed of 300 kilometers per hour.

The accident killed two drivers on board the engine car and injured 27 people, including passengers.

It was early in the morning, when there weren't many passengers, so it didn't lead to a bigger disaster.
