Last year, her nomination to the Moscow City Duma caused a storm of criticism from many liberal media and politicians: they said about Casamar that she was a candidate for power. Now Valeria Kasamara is also in the spotlight due to amendments to the internal rules of the Higher School of Economics, regarding the obligation of students and staff not to make political statements.
