“As of midnight on January 28, the state health committee received information from 59 provinces (districts, cities of central subordination) about 5974 confirmed cases of pneumonia caused by a new type of coronavirus, of which 1239 people are in serious condition, 132 died, 103 people were discharged from hospitals, ”the RIA Novosti news agency reports.
The department said that almost 1.5 thousand new cases of infection were recorded per day.
Earlier, CGTN reported that another 25 people died from coronavirus in the Chinese province of Hubei.
