The security source indicated that the accident occurred on the evening of yesterday, when the tire of a minibus carrying a number of workers exploded on Sheikh Zayed Road, and the driver and two accompanying employees got out of it, and began changing the tire, while the other took care of the upcoming cars, but a driver of a vehicle from The Lexus saloon model could not avoid the broken bus, and collided with it from the side, which led to the death of the driver, and the injury of one of the two people who got out of the car, while the other suffered moderate injuries.
He added that the traffic patrols of the specialized police station moved to the accident site, and the vehicle and the bus were quickly transported out of the road, and traffic was secured, while the injured and the driver were taken to Rashid Hospital, where the driver died of his injuries.
Witnesses told «Emirates Today» that the driver was transporting a number of security guards from the Jebel Ali port area, and after the explosion of the tire, his companions warned him of the danger of standing in the middle of the highway, and offered to help him move the car out of the street, to change its tire safely, but he Insist on switching the tire in the third lane.
The witnesses said that two of the guards came down with him for the purpose of helping him, warning the cars coming from behind, and saw a car coming quickly, so they waved for her to turn left or right, while her driver tried to warn them to get away, using the warning lights, and he tried as much as he could to avoid them, but he collided with the bus from her side, As a result, the driver died, and his companions were injured, ranging from the eloquent to the middle, while other guards inside the bus sustained minor injuries that did not necessitate their stay in the hospital.
Dubai police have repeatedly warned not to stand in the middle of the road for any reason, as long as there is the possibility to move the vehicle, and in the event of failure to do so, drivers should immediately call the emergency number 999 to send a patrol, and help the driver to secure his parking, because the drivers coming from behind can see The police waved, and the realization that something was urgent on the way.
Fatal accidents were recorded due to this grave error, including the death of an Asian family on Dubai Al Ain Street, because the father insisted on standing in the middle of the road, due to a minor accident, and his car hit a vehicle coming from behind, so that he and all his family members died, except for an infant.
An Arab family also died in a traffic accident on Sheikh Zayed Road, because of a woman who left her car in the middle of the road after it broke down, and left outside the street, colliding with a car carrying a family, so that all its passengers died instantly.
