He said this in an interview with Sonntagsblick.

Meltzer recalled that when he visited a prison in Great Britain in May at Assange, "clinically measurable consequences of psychological torture" were noticeable, "certain cognitive abilities were already impaired then."

He noted that Assange’s procedural rights are “systematically violated,” he “cannot speak with his American lawyers,” a stress factor such as a 24-hour observation made WikiLeaks founder “extremely vulnerable.”

“Together, this deeply arbitrary practice leads to constant nervous overstimulation, which, in experience, can lead to a collapse of the blood circulation or a nervous breakdown, even death ... This is what is called“ white torture, ”Meltzer said.

He stated that he had contacted the British authorities in this regard, but they deny the use of torture.

Earlier, the international human rights organization Reporters Without Borders called for the immediate release of WikiLeaks founder Julian Assange in connection with the deterioration of his health.

In November, Meltzer accused Britain of violating Assange's rights, expressed concern about the deterioration of his health and said that his life was currently at risk.
