Dubai Municipality announced that the number of groundwater drilling companies authorized to operate in Dubai for 2019-2020 increased by 55% compared to last year.

According to a new guide issued by the Municipality's Environment Department, the number of companies authorized to drill groundwater wells in Dubai for 2019-2020 is 14, compared with only nine companies authorized to work last year. The Municipality requires groundwater well drilling companies to register with the Environment Department when submitting their application for a license to operate, with a valid commercial license issued by the Department of Economic Development in Dubai under the name of “Water Well Drilling and Maintenance”, “Geological Engineering Services”.
