In the DRC, the Oicha reference general hospital in North Kivu suffers from a glaring lack of drugs. The director of the establishment calls a warning because this structure is almost the only one to be operational in the twenty or so existing in this health zone plagued by the Ebola virus.

A large number of health facilities have had to close following attacks by suspected ADF. Currently, Oicha's general referral hospital has only its drug alert stock and its revenue is down 70%.

Dr. Gerome Kambale, doctor-director of the hospital, interviewed by RFI, says he does not know how the wounded will be able to be supported and says that the hospital and breathless. " With everything happening in the area, all the health structures have already closed. There remains only the general reference hospital and some two or three structures that operate on twenty structures that we had.

" An already vulnerable population "

Every day we are receiving war wounded who are being treated. Which means that the hospital is forced to draw on its resources to treat these wounded ... As I speak to you, we are really at the end of our breath.

We do not know what injuries can happen tomorrow, the day after tomorrow, and how we will take care of them. Understand that we are treating a vulnerable population ...

Unfortunately, with the means of the hospital, even in relation to the care of other patients, apart from the war wounded, we are already at the end of our breath. The drugs now is the alert stock that is there. And with self-financing, we are almost below 30% of our income compared to the ordinary situation ".
