“On December 2–3, in accordance with the existing agreement, Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov will pay an official visit to Baku,” said Russian Foreign Ministry spokeswoman Maria Zakharova.

It is expected that during the visit issues of bilateral political, economic and cultural relations will be touched upon and a plan of consultations of the Foreign Ministries of both countries for 2020 will be signed.

“The progressive development of the Russian-Azerbaijani partnership is largely ensured by intensive political dialogue at the highest and highest levels,” the Russian Foreign Ministry emphasized.

Earlier, Russian leader Vladimir Putin announced that he plans to hold talks with Aliyev in St. Petersburg on December 20.
