Psychological care of the aggressors, introduction of the grip in the penal code, reinforcement of the number 3919 ... The Prime Minister Édouard Philippe closed Monday the Grenelle against the conjugal violence by presenting a plan to contain this plague. But Margaux Collet, activist of Dare feminism, believes that the resources allocated are not enough.

INTERVIEW

On the occasion of the end of the Grenelle against domestic violence, the government announced Monday about thirty measures to combat this scourge that has killed at least 117 women since the beginning of the year. Psychological care of the aggressors, introduction of the grip in the penal code, reinforcement of the number 3919 ... The government presented a plan with strong legal tone, which left the associations on their hunger. Monday, a few dozen activists of the collective "We all" gathered in Paris to ask even more means and more powerful devices.

At the microphone of Europe 1, it is also what claims, Margaux Collet, activist of the association Dare feminism, which is also trainer on the prevention of sexual harassment at work. It denounces falsely unpublished measures on the part of the government of which it questions the "sincerity". "Most of the measures announced in this plan already exist," she said at the microphone of Europe 1, citing in particular "the prohibition of criminal mediation, the training of teachers on domestic violence and on equality as well as the prohibition of the carrying of weapons ".

"The question of means is not just to look good"

"What is missing is the application of these texts and to apply them requires means," she says. "The question of means, it is not just to look pretty, it is so that the associations are not under water, they can answer all requests and no appeal to 3919 ( line dedicated to victims of domestic violence, ed ) is left unanswered, "she said. "The victims must be accompanied for weeks and months by associations."

The government will spend next year more than one billion euros on gender equality. But Margaux Collet fears that this announcement is only the powder in the eyes. "All the calculations are disputed, their sincerity is disputed, it is necessary to move forward and stop making communication," she explains in this regard. On Monday, Prime Minister Édouard Philippe also announced that as part of this sum, 360 million will be dedicated to the fight against violence against women.

For Margaux Collet, this envelope is not enough to take care of women victims of violence. "We want women to go to the police station and be irreproachably welcomed by police or gendarmerie officers who are trained," she said. "A woman who faces the threat 'If you leave me, I kill you, if you file a complaint, I kill you' shows tremendous courage except that behind, there is no one to help them."

Heard on europe1:

Reception in the police station and gendarmerie is very far from being irreproachable

The government intends to create an "evaluation grid" to allow the police to better estimate the danger faced by women who come to the police station or the gendarmerie.

"It's good, the evaluation grid already exists in many police stations. This is a measure that can be generalized to all police stations," said Margaux Collet, who believes that this grid is "a good tool ". However, it asserts that, alone, this device will not solve the problem of the reception of women in police stations and gendarmeries.

"This grid, it must be filled, it must be formed for and the reception in police station and gendarmerie is very far from being irreproachable," she supports, asking to go beyond the training of officers . "People who receive badly, incorrectly and refuse to take complaints must be punished," she demands, on behalf of the association Dare to feminism.

The lifting of medical confidentiality, a contested measure

Those who can help today include doctors, who often find the stigma of domestic violence against these women. However, Margaux Collet calls into question the lifting of the medical secret in case of danger of death or immediate.

"Like many specialized doctors who accompany victims, I think it's a false good idea," she says. "If a woman who feels insecure is summoned to a police station following a report from the doctor and responds that he made a mistake in interpretation, this will be marked in his file and this can be very detrimental.
