Traveling on trains of the Moscow Central Diameters (WDC) for two weeks has become free. This was stated by the mayor of the capital, Sergei Sobyanin. According to him, this is done to set up the ticket system.

“For a more thorough adjustment of the ticket system, the CPPK (Central Suburban Passenger Company. - RT) decided to make the train ride on the IDC free for the next two weeks,” Sobyanin said in a Twitter message.

In addition, for a more thorough adjustment of the ticketing system, # TsPPK decided for the next two weeks to make train travel on the WDC free of charge. We will continue to develop WDCs, make them more comfortable and convenient.

Thus, it will be possible to take advantage of free travel from November 25 to December 8. As explained on the website of the mayor of Moscow, turnstiles will be disabled.

Sobyanin also said that from November 25 at the WDC-2 trains will be increased to 10-11 cars. This route connects the Riga and Kursk directions of the Moscow Railway. The mayor emphasized that this will increase passenger seats by rush hours by 30%. The decision is associated with high passenger traffic - on weekdays their number exceeds half a million people, Sobyanin explained.

At WDC-1 connecting Savyolovskoe and Smolensk directions, the number of cars in the trains will be increased within 15 days, the mayor added. Sobyanin assured that Moscow will continue to develop WDCs.

“We will continue to develop WDCs, make them more comfortable and convenient,” he concluded.

On the day of the launch of the WDC on November 21, passengers faced a number of problems. So, a number of turnstiles did not read Troika cards, some trains were crowded, and the schedule was lost on both routes. To eliminate the failures, an operational headquarters was created to improve the work of the IDC. Sobyanin admitted that the project faced a number of problems, but stressed that they would be eliminated in a short time.

“Of course, there are some technical flaws, but we need to calmly work on this and eliminate as soon as possible the problems that, naturally, will arise during the operation of such large-scale, huge projects. You saw how we actively continued to improve the work of the MCC after its opening. Approximately the same work (perhaps even more ambitious) will take place at the open WDC, ”he said on the Russia-1 broadcast.

“Such projects make people's lives more comfortable”

Recall that the WDC officially opened on November 21. The first were launched two routes with a total length of 132 km. The objective of the project is to connect Moscow with some cities near Moscow.

The launch ceremony was attended by Russian President Vladimir Putin, Sobyanin and the head of Russian Railways Oleg Belozerov.

The routes were created on the basis of the existing infrastructure of the Moscow Railway. WDC-1, 52 km long, consists of 24 stations and connects Smolensk and Savelovsk directions. The length of WDC-2 is 80 km, and 33 stations are located along its entire length - from Nakhabino to Podolsk. Out of 57 stops at 19, you can transfer to the metro, the Moscow Central Circle or the railways. In the future, the number of stations will increase to 66, and possible transfers - to 27. Thus, public transport will become more accessible for 4 million residents of Moscow and the region.

The WDC, in addition to ordinary trains, is also equipped with new Oriole trains. In such compositions there are no vestibules and they have wider entrance doors - these characteristics increase the space inside and accelerate the boarding and alighting of passengers. In total, the Oriole in the maximum configuration of 12 cars can accommodate up to 3 thousand people.

In trains, the temperature is maintained by climate control systems. An air disinfection system is also installed. For passengers, Wi-Fi, USB sockets and bicycle mounts are provided. As noted on the website of the mayor of Moscow, the noise level in these cars is reduced by 30%.

“It is very good when we plan something, and then we realize it. Especially such large infrastructure projects. Recently, Moscow has generally made a good leap forward, Putin said at the opening. “Such projects, of course, to a large extent make people's lives more comfortable.”

Saves money and time

New lines can reduce the time that suburban residents spend on the road to Moscow. So, according to Andrey Akimov, head of the WDC Directorate of the Moscow Department of Transport, the new routes now allow Odintsovo residents to save money and get to work faster.

“Thanks to the launch, the WDCs will be able to save up to 50 thousand rubles a year on travel if they switch from a personal car to diameters. Now they spend about 47 minutes on the road, for example, to the Belorussky railway station, and during rush hours the travel time can double. At the same time, the trip to the WDC along the same route is fixed and is only 36 minutes, ”the official portal of the Moscow Mayor quoted him as saying.

Over the three days of operation, a total of 1.4 million people benefited from the IDC.

“On Saturday, November 23, more than 136 thousand people traveled to the Belorussko-Savelovsky WDC-1, and 143 thousand people took the WDC-2 Kursk-Riga route. The total volume of transportations on Saturday amounted to 279 thousand people, which is 7% higher than last Saturday. In just three days, the passenger flow of the first two diameters amounted to almost 1.4 million people, ”the Moscow Department of Transport said.

In total, it is expected that in 2020 the number of daily passengers of the metro, MCC and MCD-1 and 2 will be 9.8 million people. For comparison, in 2010 this figure was lower by more than 2 million - 7.5 million passengers.
