The State Duma adopted in the second reading amendments to the Labor Code and a number of other laws that introduce electronic work books in Russia. This was reported by the press service of the lower house of parliament.

It is planned that starting from 2021, employers will keep paper books of only those employees who, by the end of 2020, will write a statement.

The rest will be given out work books, and all new information will be stored electronically.

According to the Chairman of the State Duma Vyacheslav Volodin, the implementation of the initiative will minimize the risk of losing information about seniority.

On September 17, the document was adopted by deputies in the first reading.

Oleg Shein, a member of the relevant State Duma committee, commented on the project in an interview with the NSN.
