As diplomats pointed out, more than a thousand international representatives, including 350 from Russia, observed the elections.

“Observers from the CIS, the SCO, the Parliamentary Assembly of the Union of Belarus and Russia recognized that the elections were held openly and at a high organizational level, consistent with national laws and international standards,” the statement said.

It is noted that at the same time, the joint mission led by the OSCE / ODIHR, with the participation of PACE and OSCE PA parliamentarians, stated that the campaign “did not meet international standards for democratic elections.”

“It seems that these missions worked in different countries and certainly followed different rules and methodologies,” the statement said.

The ministry emphasized that Russia welcomes the successful holding of parliamentary elections in Belarus, which "were held with full respect for international democratic standards."

“We consider the assessment of the mission led by the ODIHR biased and politicized. We are sorry that the United States and the EU countries were in solidarity with them. We hope for effective work with the new composition of the Belarusian parliament, including in the framework of the Parliamentary Assembly of the Union of Belarus and Russia, ”concluded the Foreign Ministry.

Earlier, the OSCE said that the elections in Belarus "did not meet the standards of democratic elections."

As noted in the CEC of Belarus, the assessment by the OSCE observers is superficial and insufficiently reasoned.

The State Department recognized the elections, but called for reform of the electoral system.
