Leaders of the CIS countries warmly congratulated Putin on his victory in the elections. Putin had telephone conversations with the leaders of Azerbaijan, Belarus, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan and Uzbekistan.

They especially noted the broad support among Russian citizens for Putin’s course in domestic and foreign policy. They wished Putin further success in his government activities. Earlier, the leader of Belarus Alexander Lukashenko called Vladimir Putin”s result in the presidential elections in Russia stunning.
